Freelance web design and SEO

I build websites that get found, and fix the ones that don’t.

Bespoke WordPress and Shopify, built to be found rather than just to look right. You deal with me from the first call to the last fix.

What it costs

No hiding the price until the call

You get a fixed price against a written scope before anything starts. Builds are quoted, retainers are the same every month, and the audit is the cheapest way to find out if any of it is worth doing.

How it works

What you actually get from me

  1. You tell me the problem

What the site is not doing, and what a good outcome looks like for you.

  2. I look properly

I go through the site before we speak, so the call is about answers not questions.

  3. A fixed price, or an honest no

A defined scope with a number against it, or a straight answer that I am not the right fit.

  4. I do the work

You hear from me as it happens, and you get the numbers afterwards either way.

About

You get the person who does the work.

I take on a small number of clients so each one gets proper attention. You explain the problem to the person who is going to solve it, and you get a straight answer on whether it is worth doing at all.

Behind that is ecommerce and internal platform work inside national retailers, Studio Retail and Chillblast Group among them. Same work, same standard, without the agency in between.

Why work with me

You are hiring one person, and that is the point.

You talk to the person doing the work
No account manager relaying messages, no handover to someone you have never spoken to. The person you brief is the person writing the code.
I will tell you when something is not worth doing
If a job will not move the needle I would rather say so than take the money and watch it do nothing.
The site stays yours
Content you can edit without ringing me, on a platform you already own. No proprietary builder that locks you in.

Common questions

The things people ask first

What does a website actually cost?

It depends entirely on what it has to do, which is why I quote a fixed price against a written scope rather than a day rate. Small brochure sites and ecommerce builds are very different jobs.

How long does SEO take to work?

Technical fixes can show in a few weeks. Anything genuinely competitive takes three to six months before the numbers move properly, and I would rather tell you that now than promise you something faster. You get a report either way, in clicks and enquiries rather than positions, so you can see what is happening instead of taking my word for it.

Do you work with agencies?

Yes, a good part of my work is white label for agencies. You brief me, I build it, it goes out under your name and I stay out of the way. Agency rates are different to direct rates, so say which you are and I will quote accordingly.

What if you are busy?

I take on a small number of clients at a time, so sometimes the honest answer is that I cannot start for a few weeks. You will get a date rather than a maybe, and if it is urgent and I cannot do it properly I will say so rather than take the job and let it drift.

Something on your site not doing its job?

Book a call and I will look at your site properly and tell you what I would do. Twenty minutes, no pitch.
