Web design in Wigan

Bespoke WordPress and Shopify builds for Wigan businesses. One person from the first call to the last fix, and a site you can run yourself afterwards.

The problem

A bigger town, and a lot of very similar websites

There are more businesses competing here than in the smaller towns nearby, and a surprising number of them have the same website. The same template, the same stock photography, the same three paragraphs about quality and service.

That is not a design problem. It is that nothing on the page says why somebody should ring you rather than the next one.

A site that is worth the money says something specific, and it says it in the first screen rather than three pages in.

That takes a conversation about what you actually do and who actually buys it, which is the part of the job that is not code.

What I do here

What a build actually includes

Designed from a blank page

Not a template with your logo dropped in, which is what most of your competitors have.

Built to be edited

Every word, image and section is a field in the admin, so the site can change as the business does.

Set up to be found

The search work happens during the build, not as a separate invoice afterwards.

Handed over properly

Logins in your name, hosting on your account, and a walkthrough of what you will touch.

Non branded organic clicks for Camcoat Performance Coatings in Warrington, over six months

That is the search side of the job rather than the build. Camcoat are in Warrington, and it is the only result on this site with verified numbers against it.

Areas I cover

Nearby towns I also cover

Same work, same standard, across this side of the region.

Also covering Standish, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Hindley, Orrell and Leigh.

Common questions

Answered plainly

Do I have to be local to work with you?

No, and most of my clients are not on my doorstep.

The work happens the same way wherever you are: a written scope, a staging link from week one, and calls when they are useful. Being nearby means we can meet if you want to, and that is genuinely easier for some jobs.

It is not a reason to pick me on its own.

Can I edit the site myself afterwards?

Yes, and it is built that way on purpose.

Every bit of copy, every image and every section is a field in the admin, not something buried in code. You get a walkthrough of the parts you will actually touch at handover.

What you will not get is a page builder, because those are what make a site slow and impossible to change properly two years later.

What does a small business site actually cost?

From £2,500 for a bespoke build, and the number depends on how many different kinds of page it needs rather than how many pages there are.

Ten pages that are all the same shape is a small job. Four pages that are all different is a bigger one.

You get a fixed price in writing before anything is built, and if the scope changes you see the new number before I start, not on the invoice.

How long does a build take?

Four to eight weeks for most small business sites, and the thing that decides it is usually content rather than code.

If your copy and photography are ready it moves quickly. If they are not, that is the bit that takes the time, and I would rather say so at the start than let it drift.

You see it on a staging link from the first week either way.

Need a site that actually brings work in?

Book a call and I will tell you whether what you have needs rebuilding or just fixing.
