The landing pages

Chillblast and CCL are two brands in the same group, both selling custom gaming PCs, laptops and components, and both describing themselves as award winning. The same job ran across the pair of them.

Most of the front end work was campaign landing pages, the pages a sale, a product launch or a partnership runs on, built to go up quickly and come down again afterwards.

A configurable PC is an awkward thing to sell. The buyer is weighing a graphics card, a processor, memory, storage and a warranty across half a dozen machines at once, so the page has to make that comparison possible without collapsing into a datasheet and without burying the reason to buy in the first place.

The internal CMS

The other half of it was helping build their internal CMS, the tool the marketing teams used to put those pages together for themselves.

That is a different kind of problem from building a page. A page has one right answer and you build it. A tool has to survive everything the people using it will try, including the things nobody thought of when it was specified, and it is judged on one thing only, whether somebody can get a campaign live on a Friday afternoon without needing a developer.

Serving two brands rather than one is what made it worth building. Two sets of products, two identities, one tool.
