A custom WordPress theme
Built for your site rather than bought and bent into shape. Quick, accessible, and loading nothing the page does not use.
Web design
Bespoke WordPress sites for Manchester businesses, built by one developer from a blank page. No page builder, nothing sent offshore, and a site your team can edit without ringing me.
The problem
Manchester is full of agencies, and most of them are set up for budgets a small business does not have. The cheaper end usually means a bought theme, a page builder and a handoff to someone you never speak to. Either way the site ends up awkward to change, so it slowly goes out of date.
I am in St Helens, along the M62, and I build WordPress sites the way the bigger agencies build them for their own clients: a custom theme, every section a labelled field, a written scope and a fixed price. You deal with me from the first call to launch, and after it.
What I do here
Built for your site rather than bought and bent into shape. Quick, accessible, and loading nothing the page does not use.
Text, images and whole sections are labelled fields in the admin, so your team can update the site without breaking the layout.
Before anything is built. If the scope changes you see the new number before I start it, not on the invoice.
Logins in your name, hosting on your account, and a walkthrough of everything you will touch.

Non branded organic clicks for Camcoat Performance Coatings, over six months
Camcoat are a Warrington business on a WordPress site I built. The build and the search work were done together, which is why the numbers moved.
Areas I cover
Same work, same standard, across this side of the region.
WordPress and Shopify builds across St Helens.
WordPress and Shopify builds across Warrington.
WordPress and Shopify builds across Wigan.
Also covering Salford, Trafford, Stockport and the rest of Greater Manchester.
Common questions
No, and most of my clients are not on my doorstep.
The work happens the same way wherever you are: a written scope, a staging link from week one, and calls when they are useful. Being nearby means we can meet if you want to, and that is genuinely easier for some jobs.
It is not a reason to pick me on its own.
Yes, and it is built that way on purpose.
Every bit of copy, every image and every section is a field in the admin, not something buried in code. You get a walkthrough of the parts you will actually touch at handover.
What you will not get is a page builder, because those are what make a site slow and impossible to change properly two years later.
From £2,500 for a bespoke build, and the number depends on how many different kinds of page it needs rather than how many pages there are.
Ten pages that are all the same shape is a small job. Four pages that are all different is a bigger one.
You get a fixed price in writing before anything is built, and if the scope changes you see the new number before I start, not on the invoice.
Four to eight weeks for most small business sites, and the thing that decides it is usually content rather than code.
If your copy and photography are ready it moves quickly. If they are not, that is the bit that takes the time, and I would rather say so at the start than let it drift.
You see it on a staging link from the first week either way.
What clients say
Enquiries from people searching for the coatings we actually do, rather than our name, have roughly doubled in six months. Straightforward to deal with, and he tells us when something isn't worth doing.
Aaron has been excellent to work with. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an experienced WordPress developer.
Aaron built our online shop from scratch and it was the first time the brand actually looked like us online.
The work comes back the way it was specced, on the date he said, and it goes out under our name without us having to check it twice.
