Web design in Widnes

Bespoke WordPress and Shopify builds for Widnes businesses, from a developer just up the road in St Helens. A real number up front, and the same person from first call to launch.

The problem

Stuck between city agencies and template shops

Widnes sits between Liverpool and Warrington, so most quotes come from city agencies with city overheads, or from template shops that hand over a theme and move on.

Neither is much use if you just want a site that works and brings enquiries in.

What I offer instead is a written scope and a fixed price before anything is built, a staging link from week one, and handover in your name.

Camcoat, a few miles up the road in Warrington, are the case study with real numbers against it.

What I do here

What a Widnes build actually includes

A fixed price, in writing

Before anything is built. If the scope changes you see the new number before I start it, not on the invoice.

Designed from a blank page

Not a template with your logo dropped in, and not sent offshore once the deposit clears.

Built to be edited

Every word, image and section is a field in the admin. No page builder.

Handed over properly

Logins in your name, hosting on your account, and a walkthrough of what you will touch.

Non branded organic clicks for Camcoat Performance Coatings in Warrington, over six months

Camcoat are based in Warrington, a short drive from Widnes. The site work and the search work were the same job, which is why the numbers moved.

Areas I cover

Nearby towns I also cover

Same work, same standard, across this side of the region.

Also covering Runcorn, Hough Green, Cronton, Hale and Halebank.

Common questions

Answered plainly

Do you cover Runcorn as well as Widnes?

Yes. Runcorn, Halton, Hale Village and Ditton are all part of the same patch.

A page that covers both sides of the bridge properly is often enough to win the map pack here.

Why not use a Manchester or Liverpool agency?

You can, and some are very good.

With me you get one person, a fixed price in writing, and the same person at the end as at the start.

Do I have to be local to work with you?

No, and most of my clients are not on my doorstep.

The work happens the same way wherever you are: a written scope, a staging link from week one, and calls when they are useful. Being nearby means we can meet if you want to, and that is genuinely easier for some jobs.

It is not a reason to pick me on its own.

Can I edit the site myself afterwards?

Yes, and it is built that way on purpose.

Every bit of copy, every image and every section is a field in the admin, not something buried in code. You get a walkthrough of the parts you will actually touch at handover.

What you will not get is a page builder, because those are what make a site slow and impossible to change properly two years later.

What does a small business site actually cost?

From £2,500 for a bespoke build, and the number depends on how many different kinds of page it needs rather than how many pages there are.

Ten pages that are all the same shape is a small job. Four pages that are all different is a bigger one.

You get a fixed price in writing before anything is built, and if the scope changes you see the new number before I start, not on the invoice.

How long does a build take?

Four to eight weeks for most small business sites, and the thing that decides it is usually content rather than code.

If your copy and photography are ready it moves quickly. If they are not, that is the bit that takes the time, and I would rather say so at the start than let it drift.

You see it on a staging link from the first week either way.

Need a site that actually brings work in?

Book a call and I will give you a real number for the job, and tell you if it is not worth doing.
